Academics

In 2004, St. Benedict opened new doors to a state-of-the-art high school facility to serve 1,000 students in grades 9-12. St. Benedict at Auburndale High School offers educational experiences for students.

The St. Benedict at Auburndale school curriculum encompasses all academic disciplines associated with a college preparatory program. SBA offers traditional college prep classes as well as Honors and Advanced Placement courses in English, foreign language, history, mathematics and science. As part of the school’s mission, St. Benedict also offers the PLUS program, an academic course of study specifically designed for students with learning differences. Class size for PLUS is 16 students.

St. Benedict boasts many who have been named National Merit Finalists and scholarship winners and Commended Scholars by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. National Testing Scores (ACAT & SAT) are historically well above the local, state and national levels.

Academic competition is a hallmark of the school’s academic success. Each year SBA students are recognized by the Commercial Appeal Academic All-Star program and in the past four years, SBA has placed in the top tier in the WREG-TV Knowledge Bowl Competition with two championships during that time.
