Application Process
- The first step is to obtain an application. The best way is to go to the website of the college in which you are interested. Some colleges will have an application to download and print, others will require online applications only. The guidance office will also have copies of some applications. There is a form called the common application, you may use this form for over 150 listed schools. You need to complete this form only once and send copies to all of the schools accepting the application. The common application is used for more selective schools. To use the common application go to www.commonapp.org.
- Check for deadlines. Make sure the college receives your application before the due date.
- Request a transcript from the guidance office. Students must complete a form including the complete address of the college. Transcripts must be sent
directly from St. Benedict.
Recommendations may be required by some colleges. Teacher recommendation request forms are available in the guidance office.
Make sure you give the request to the teacher at least two weeks prior to the due date of the application,
