Model United Nations

Model U.N. is a group of students that act as delegates for different countries and writ position papers for their country on their stance on pertinent issues of the day.  They attend conferences and participate in simulations of the real United Nations.

Sponsor:  Mrs. Timmins

Dues/Fees:  No initial fees, but each conference attended has a fee.

Requirments to Become a Member:  Model U.N. students need to have an interest in foreign affairs and politics and need to be able to research and make speeches in public.

Minimum Requirements to Stay a Member:  Students must come to the meetings, turn in their papers on time, and be educated about their given country.

The Model UN exists to teach students to discuss and debate international policies and problems in a civil manner.  Using parliamentary procedure in a committee structure, students debate pressing international issues of the day.
