2011 - 2012 Application for Enrollment
St. Benedict at Auburndale is open to all applicants who have indicated their ability to follow the course of studies provided by St. Benedict and whose conduct has been such to recommend them. St. Benedict at Auburndale welcomes all candidates regardless of race, color or national origin.
Applications are accepted beginning August 1, one year prior to the school year in which a student wishes to enroll.
The following items are required to complete the admissions process for St. Benedict:
1) Application for Admission - applicants must complete and submit this application.
2) Application Fee - a non-refundable $75 application fee must be submitted with the application.
3) Report Card & Standardized Test scores - a copy of the applicant’s most recent report card and most recent standardized test scores (ITBS, TCAP, etc.) are required.
4) High School Placement Test - all 9th grade applicants are required to take the St.
Benedict placement exam, which aids in placing students in the appropriate course of study.
5) Student Interview - Sophomore and Junior applicants will be scheduled for an interview with the Principal after file is completed and reviewed.
6) Immunization Record - A current immunization record is required for admission. Please provide a copy of applicant’s most recent immunization record.
7) Birth Certificate - a copy of applicant’s birth certificate is required.
Applicant’s files will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee and notification letters mailed the first of February. After February, St. Benedict will continue accepting applications and offer enrollment as space is available.
PLUS Program applicants:
In addition to the above items, please also submit:
a. A copy of a psychological educational report that is current (within the last three years)
b. A copy of any special education services received from previous school
After review of all PLUS applicant records, if the student appears to be a possible candidate for the PLUS Program, in-house testing is scheduled (fee required). When all testing is completed, the results are reviewed by the educational team. A final determination is made resulting in one of the following: (a) a full PLUS course of study, (b) a combination of PLUS and traditional classes, (c) all traditional classes, or (d) non-acceptance to St.Benedict. A conference is scheduled with the Director of the PLUS Program and the parents/guardians to review the testing and discuss recommendations.
