Congratulations to SBA swimmers senior Megan Wynne and freshman JD Dudek, who represented SBA at the State Swim Meet in a field of very strong swimmers. JD finished 38/76 in 500 free and 42/68 in the 200 free. Megan finished 57/68 in the 100 free and broke her own school record in the 500 free with 5:38.38 and finished 29/72. OUTSTANDING JOB, EAGLES!

The SBA Swim teams had outstanding efforts at the recent County Championship Meet. The boys placed fifth out of 15 teams and the girls placed seventh out of 17. The combined scores gave the Eagles a 5th place for the meet. Many Eagle swimmers have qualified for the State Meet in February. This is the first time our boys have won a trophy! Our combined score (boys and girls) earned us a 5th place trophy for the meet. Outstanding performances for the meet were:

  • Senior Megan Wynne - 3rd place in the 200 free (new school record), 4th place in the 500 free (new school record;
  • Freshman JD Dudek - 4th place in the 200 free (new school record), 7th place in the 500 free (new school record);
  • Junior Alex Gaffney - 10th place in the 200 free, 4th place in 100 IM;
  • Freshman Shannon Conway - 10th 50 breaststroke
  • Junior Anthony Migliaccio - 11th 50 breaststroke;
  • Junior Drew Roberson - 11th 100 butterfly, 9th 50 butterfly;
  • Senior Molly Wagner - 11th 50 butterfly;
  • Junior Clay Horton - 9th 100 backstroke;
  • Freshman Erin Dromerhauser - 5th 100 IM;
  • Freshman Meghan Brino - 8th 100 IM;
  • Freshman Brett Wagner - 5th 100 IM;

January 5, 2012

The Eagle Swim Team competed against Houston, Bolton, Arlington, Lausanne, St Agnes, White Station and Southwind. The girls finished 2nd behind Houston and the boys were 4th behind Houston, Arlington and Lausanne. Outstanding swims were from Senior Megan Wynne: 3rd in 200 Free and 100 Fly; Freshman Shannon Conway: 6th in 50 Backstroke, Freshman JD Dudek: 1st in 200 Free, 4th in 50 Breaststroke; junior Alex Gaffney 5th in 200 free and 50 free; freshman Brett Wagner 5th in 50 backstroke; and sophomore Drew Roberson 6th in 100 butterfly. Our next meet is Thursday, Jan 19 at 5:00pm at St George’s


December 3, 2011

The Eagle Swim Team competed on Saturday at the Bartlett Rec Center. The girls finished 2nd behind Hutchison and the boys also finished 2nd behind MUS. We had numerous season best times from all members of the team.

Congrats to freshman JD Dudek who place first in the 500 free and second in the 100 free. And congrats to senior Megan Wynne who placed first in the 500 free and second in the 100 backstroke.

December 1, 2011

The SBA swim team competed in a meet last night against Houston, Hutchison, Arlington, St Agnes, Harding, MUS and CBHS. The girls finished 3rd and the boys were 5th. Congratulations to freshman JD Dudek for breaking the school record in the 200 freestyle!

November 5, 2011

The SBA swim teams had a good meet today with the Lady Eagles placing 3rd, out of five teams, and the boys placing 4th. The teams were led by Senior Megan Wynne, who placed 2nd in the 500-free and qualified for the State Meet and 1st in the 50- butterfly. Also, freshman standout JD Dudek placed 3rd in the 500-free and broke our school record.  He also qualified for the State Meet in that event. Freshman Erin Dromerhauser, placing 3rd in the 50-butterfly and 100-IM, qualified for the County Meet in both events. The Swim Team’s next meet is Dec 1 at St Georges.


October 27, 2011

The Swimming Eagles finished 4th (girls) and 3rd (boys) against MUS, MHEA, Bolton, SMS, and Southwind in our first of 6 swim meets of the season. We had 11 swimmers qualify for the County Championship Meet: Megan Brino, Sarah Kutas, Erin Dromerhauser, Adriana Schirlo, Rachel Gaffney, Drew Roberson, Brett Wagner, Brice Norris, Alex Gaffney, Anthony Migliaccio, and JD Dudek. Congratulations swimmers! We also had one STATE Qualifier: JD Dudek qualified for STATE in the 200 freestyle. Our next meet will be Nov 5th at 3:00pm at Bartlett Rec Center.


October 22, 2011

The SBA Swim Team opened up their season with the Shelby County Relay Meet on Saturday. The Eagles finished in 8th place out of 16 teams for both the girls and boys teams. We had some outstanding swims from junior Alex Gaffney, sophomores Drew Roberson and Brice Norris. Also newcomers-freshman J D Dudek and junior Anthony Migliaccio showed some great potential. On the girls side senior Megan Wynne and junior Adrianna Schirlo led the Lady Eagles. Freshmen Erin Dromerhauser, Shannon Conway and Megan Brino are the swimmers to watch in the future. Their next meet will be Thursday, Oct 27 at 5:00pm at St. George’s.
