Team Information

  • Trap is a competitive club sport offered to boys and girls in grades 9-12.
  • ALL ATHLETES must possess proof they are certified in Hunter Safety. This can be accomplished at the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) in Bartlett, or online line here. Online courses require a shooting session by all participants.
  • Practices will be held at the Shelby Farms Trap Field on Fridays after school.
  • All athletes must have their own shotgun. We recommend a 12-Gauge semi-auto, pump or over/under shotgun. However, participants can use a 20-Gauge as well. If the athlete is using a semi-auto, we suggest installing a shell catcher on the gun as to not interfere with other athletes on the range.
  • Eye and ear protection are required at all times while on the range. Muffs are not required, but athletes must have ear protection.
  • No food or drink (except water in a bottle) is allowed on the range.
  • The approximate cost per athlete is $1,700. This includes range time, ammunition, targets, tournament registration fees and uniform (cap, PFG shirt, rain jacket, pullover and shooting vest). Each athlete will shoot at least 100 rounds per practice and per tournament. The cost for returning shooters may be less.
