Graduation Planning

• 2 honors courses during freshman year
• 2 honors courses during sophomore year
• 3 honors courses during junior year
• 3 honors courses during senior year
• 3 years of the same foreign language, STEM, Fine Arts (same concentration), or Capstone Diploma eligibility.*
• 3 AP courses throughout high school will be recognized as graduating with honors. Students must notify the Senior Counselor by the assigned date for transcript analysis for this honor.
• 1 extra course in either Science or Social Studies

*2025-2027 Graduating Classes must have 3 years of foreign language.

All transfer students wanting to enroll in any Math, Science and/or Spanish honors courses must take honors testing regardless of previous classes.

Must successfully complete four consecutive years of a Fine Art where at least three years are in the same concentration area.

• Freshman year: English I Honors (preferred)
• Sophomore year: World History Honors / AP and English II Honors
• Junior year: AP Seminar and AP Language & Composition
• Senior year: AP Research

4 AP Courses must be taken throughout high school in addition to AP Seminar & AP Research.

*Student must score a 3 or higher on all 6 AP exams.

Graduation requirements include a student ACT and/or SAT score on file with St. Benedict at Auburndale taken during or after Algebra II. This can be accomplished by entering in our school code (430-451) when registering for these tests.

• Freshman take the Pre-ACT
• Sophomores take the PSAT 
• Juniors take the PSAT/NMSQT. Students may qualify for scholarships and recognition through the National Merit Scholarship Program based on their test results.

Students taking AP courses are required to take the AP exam at the end of the year in order to receive AP credit. Each student must be approved to take the exam by the instructor before the exam date. Any student not approved will be required to take a final exam and will not receive AP credit for the class.

Registering for AP / Capstone testing requires an additional fee.
