PLUS Program

Created for students with learning differences, this college prep initiative offers classes in smaller groups to provide personalized attention to each student. PLUS students may enroll in Plus, Traditional, Honors, AP, and Dual Enrollment courses based on counselor and teacher recommendations, enabling them to pursue a curriculum that aligns with their goals. The PLUS program features a small teacher-to-student ratio and built-in classroom accommodations.

Admission Requirements

Acceptance to the PLUS Program is based on:

  • A psychological evaluation indicating a specified learning difference that is no more than three years old.
  • Previous school records.
  • A high school placement test at St. Benedict or, if the student attended a Catholic school, the Pre-ACT provided by that school.
  • Interviews with the student and parents.

The evaluation team reviews these documents, and course placement recommendations are presented to the applicant. Placement in other special education programs does not guarantee acceptance into St. Benedict’s PLUS Program. No IEP is written; however, a profile is developed from the psychological testing that includes the student’s strengths, weaknesses, accommodations, and learning differences.

PLUS Program Courses

Course information reflects the 2025-2026 academic year.
Any class designated as a prerequisite for a course must be completed before enrolling in that course.
