Arts at SBA
The fine arts instill invaluable skills like critical thinking, discipline, adaptability, self-expression, empathy, and collaboration in students who explore their creative sides on stage and off. Whether it's playing in one of our nationally recognized instrumental ensembles, singing in an award-winning choral ensemble, or stealing the spotlight in one of the three full theatrical productions offered each year, students can explore their imaginations while preparing for colleges and job markets looking for confident, expressive, and cooperative individuals in every field.

Instrumental Music
With courses offered in Concert Band, Rock & Soul Band, Orchestra, and extracurriculars in Jazz Band and Pep Band, there are many outlets for students to express their musical interests at The Nest. Students enjoy annual trips to competitions, supporting the theater program as members of our student orchestra, and helping create the premier fan experience we all know and love at our football games.
Theatre
The Theatre Program at SBA has a rich history of success and is excellent on and off campus. Classes in Acting, Advanced Acting, and Technical Theatre provide a robust and well-rounded arts education for those interested in Drama, Design, and Production. With annual recognition at the Orpheum Theatre Group's High School Musical Theatre Awards, SBA's musicals are well-received by the greater Memphis community.

The Visual Arts Department at SBA offers students many ways to express their creativity.
Vocal Music
The choral program at SBA is an excellent place to experience the fine arts and be a part of something unique and rewarding here at SBA. Students who participate in our choirs come from every walk of life, and they all energetically love being a part of this program. Choir students are offered opportunities to perform, travel, and participate in All West, All-State, Chorale Festival, and other regional events.
Our performers are not just musicians but also athletes, students involved in government, ambassadors, and much more. The choir is for everyone, and we would love to have you as part of the family.
