College Counseling

The college admissions process can be a very exciting time for students.  At SBA, we believe that it is important to provide students with the tools they will need to navigate the ever changing and competitive process.

Our College Counseling program works with the students in each stage of the process, and students are encouraged to learn more about their personalities and areas of interest, ask questions, set goals, develop action plans, and envision possiblities.  The Counseling office cultivates this process by offering individual and group meetings, visiting with college representatives, advising on SAT and ACT, and assisting with applications, essays, interviews, and scholarships.

College Day Information

Seniors are allowed two college days a year. However, you must follow the guidelines.

Students must bring a note to a counselor from his/her parent requesting a college visit. A counselor will issue the student a clearance form.

All teachers, a counselor, and the attendance secretary must sign the form. Discuss with your teachers how you will make up any missed work. The counselor must approve the form at least two days before the visit.

After the visit, bring documentation from the college stating the date of the visit. The documentation must be signed by an official at the college.

The absence WILL NOT be counted as an excused college day unless the documentation is returned to the counseling office the day you return from the visit.
