Basketball – Boys Basketball gets nice win over MHEA, 57-49, on Senior Night. Zach Lucchesi leads the way with 21 points and 5 3-pointers. The Eagles are 9-17 on the year. The LadyEaglesdidn't get the win, but scrambled back to come close, 51-40. 

February 9, 2018

Swimming – SBA Swim closes out the year by making history at the Tennessee State Championships. For the first time ever, SBA placed a men’s relay team into the State Finals! Jacob Nichols, Zach Ryan and a pair of freshmen, Colin Lee & Luc Ferro, swam to 14thoverall in the 400-yard freestyle relay. Sophomore Jacob Nichols won an individual State Medal in the 500-yard freestyle, placing 15thoverall, and becomes the first male swimmer in school history to earn back-to-back individual State Medals. Senior captains Madison Wolfanger & Zach Ryan finished their careers in style. Madison broke the SBA record in the 100-yard backstroke and finished 19thoverall in that event. Zach Ryan swam personal bests and was on 2 record-setting relays. Overall, 10 school records were broken, including: Emma Hooper in the 200 IM & 100 butterfly, Jacob Nichols in the 100 butterfly & 500 free, Luc Ferro in the 200IM & 100 breaststroke, the Men’s 200 free & 400 free relay team of Zach Ryan, Luc Ferro, Colin Lee & Jacob Nichols, and the women’s 200 medley team of Madison Wolfanger, Jennifer Farler, Emma Hooper & Bri Ayers.

Wrestling– The lone Eagle wrestler advancing to the state after the Div-II West Region Tournament is sophomore Sebastian Bougeois.

Boys Basketball– The Eagles fell behind early in the 1stquarter in region action vs CBHS and could not climb their way out. Bright spot in the game was freshman Chip Brunt’s 17 points freshman Bobby Westbrooks’ 13 points. The Eagles are 8-17 overall and 0-5 in the region.

Feb. 1, 2018

Basketball– Not a great night for Eagles’ Basketball as both the girls and boys took region losses. The girls played stronger than the earlier match-up with a good Hutchison team, but lost 44-35 and despite the high scoring of Alyiah Williamson, who led all players with 20 pts. The Lady Eagles are 7-16 overall and 1-5 in the region. The boys played equally as well and better than an earlier match-up with MUS, but, again, got the loss, 40-39. Wyatt Messmer led the Eagles with 15. They are 8-15 overall and 0-4 in the region.

Basketball– The Eagles traveled to Bartlett for a non-region match-up with the Lady Eagles getting a much-needed win, 37-34. Scoring was even across the board with Alyiah Williamson high with 9 points and Emma Clowney, Isabella Jones and Ella Lamey all dropping in 6. The Lady Eagles are 8-16 overall. The boys came out strong vs the number one team in the state, but ultimately loosing to a strong, fast and sharp-shooting Panthers team, 85-50. Freshman Chip Brunt, only 2 off the game leader Sylvester Thompson of Bartlett, was high scorer for the Eagles with 16. The boys hold a 8-16 record.

Girls Basketball– The Lady Eagles held their own in a region game with St. Agnes that went into an overtime period, but the Stars got the best of the Eagles in that OT period, getting the win, 52-45. Leading the Eagles in scoring on the night was Alyiah Williamson with 17. The Eagles are 8-17 overall and 1-6 in the region.
