Attendance

The Importance of Attendance

Students should recognize the important link between academic success and consistent attendance. We encourage families to plan trips and vacations in accordance with the school calendar to minimize disruptions to their child’s learning. Parents play a vital role in fostering positive attendance habits and punctuality, and we ask for their support in promoting these initiatives at home.

Attendance is officially recorded during the advisory period, and all absences and tardies will be reflected in the student's official school transcript. If a student must be absent from school, please follow these steps:

Notify the School Office
Call the school office at 901.260.2893 or email attendance@sbaeagles.org before 7:45 am on the day of the absence to inform them of the reason for the student's absence.

Prepare Documentation
Upon returning to school, the student should bring:

  • A written statement signed by a parent or guardian, detailing the reason for the absence.
  • A doctor's note (if applicable).

Submit Absence Documentation
Present both the doctor's note and the written statement to the school office before the advisory period on the day of return.
