Prayer is essential to daily life, and that is no different for St. Benedict at Auburndale. There are several traditional prayers our students have come to know and to love because we use them daily here on campus. We invite you to pray along with us, and to be united in prayer with the entire SBA family.
O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary,
I offer you my prayers, works, joys and sufferings of this day
in union with all the intentions of Your Sacred Heart:
the salvation of souls
reparation for sin,
the reunion of all Christians;
I offer them for the intentions of our bishops,
and all the members of the Apostleship of Prayer,
and in particular for those recommended by our Holy Father for this month. Amen.
Prayer of St. Benedict
Gracious and Holy Father,
grant us the intellect to understand You,
reason to discern You,
diligence to seek You,
wisdom to find You,
a spirit to know You,
a heart to meditate upon You.
May our ears hear You,
may our eyes behold You,
and may our tongues proclaim You.
Give us grace that our way of life may be pleasing to You,
that we may have the patience to wait for you and the perseverance to look for You.
Grant us a perfect end – Your holy Presence, a blessed resurrection and life everlasting.
We ask this through Christ Our Lord. Amen.
Guardian Angel Prayer
Angel of God, my Guardian Dear,
To whom God’s love commits me here,
Ever this day be at my side
To light, to guard, to rule, to guide. Amen.
Act of Contrition
O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended You. And I detest all my sins because of Your
just punishments, but most of all because they offend You, my God, who are all Good and
deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Your grace to sin no more and to
avoid the near occasion of sin. Amen.
Grace After Meals
We give thee thanks, almighty God, for these and all thy benefits, which we have received from
thy bounty, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
St. Michael the Archangel
Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host,
by the Power of God,
cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits
who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
